Babies who are not potty trained are not allowed in the pools, even if they are wearing a swimming nappy. It mostly applies to children under the age of 3. Babies and toddlers can come with the family to the Spa but need to stay outside the pool area with somebody. I am afraid the stroller can not be taken inside the pool areas.
The thermal baths were and are still aimed at adult bathers, therefore there are no kid’s pools or activities.
Most of the outdoor and indoor pools and baths are more than 33 degrees Celsius, which means increased stress for the cardiovascular system of kids, whose body is not fully developed yet to be able to cope with the heat of the bath waters, therefore saunas and hot pools are not healthy for children under 14.

I know that the Hotel Gellert is closed for renovations. Are the Gellert Baths still open? Do you know when the hotel will re-open? Thank you, Laura

Thank you for your inquiry.
The Baths will be definitely open until May 31st, 2022. After that, it all depends on multiple factors.
The wings of the building complex that belong to the hotel are indeed shut down and reconstructions works began back in December 2021.
But Gellert Spa will stay open in its own wings until the end of May, after which the reconstructions works will likely start and last for two years.
Please check back as the schedule of the restoration works keeps being modified so the best strategy for now is to inquire a few days before your planned visit.

If there are any restrictions regarding covid what do I need to know before I visit the baths? The thermal baths can visit the person who has a certificate?

Thank you for your inquiry about the thermal baths entry requirements.
Since the Hungarian vaccination level has reached the target number 5.5 million vaccinated, since July 3rd 2021 Covid passports have been no longer required to enter the thermal baths in the city of Budapest, including Szechenyi and Gellert Bath (wearing masks and presenting immunity cards are no longer required in most of the places of attractions in Budapest).
