Buying a bath entry ticket to any Budapest Thermal Baths is affordable, even if it is not cheap.
Although, there used to be a refund system in certain baths (for example Szechenyi Baths), this refund system is no longer in use. If you purchase a full-time ticket but only spend a couple of hours at the baths, you are not entitled to any refund.
Instead of the old system at Szechenyi Spa Baths, morning, afternoon, and evening tickets are available, as well as full-day tickets. The ‘day section’ i.e. evening tickets allow you to stay for 2 hours, the full-day ticket allows you to stay any time of the day for any hours, as long as the facilities are open.
Buying the full price ticket is definitely worth it, as the baths and pools, the massage therapies, etc. are really fun and time flies by quickly in any spa in Budapest.
There are also different ‘day section’ Bath Ticket types in every Baths in Budapest.

Dear Leonardo,
Thank you for contacting us.
We have sent you an email with instructions.
Was booked in for early May but obviously due to coronavirus the site is closed, however we are being refused a refund. Please could someone get in contact ASAP before I contact trading standards.
Hello Victoria,
you might have booked on a different website as we did not refuse any refund requests.
We will contact you via email shortly.
The sparty I am supposed to be attending on 14/03/2020 has been cancelled through no fault of my own there was 12 of us attending how do we get a refund when it wasn’t us who cancelled,
I also had a ticket along with 12 others for the 14/03/2020 which has now been cancelled. Surely a refund will be processed.

Hi Szechenyi Bath,
I hope you are doing well. It is so sad to ask if the booking can be semiーcancelled. I was booking for 2 people but now only 1 can visit the magnificent bath on 09 Feb 2020. It will be great if i can cancel 1 person’s booking and keep another person’s. Is there anything you can help, please?
Dear Pohan,
Thank you for your comment, we have replied to your email.
Have a great day.
Hi,
I have just bought tickets for £94.00 and can not go at all, however I have asked for a refund, have yet to have an answer from a couple of days ago.
This was booked through a company called booked4.us, however I didn’t know that at the time.
Think this will be a rip off, beware of where you buy your tickets.
Hello Alison,
We can not see any bookings under your name, and that company is not one of our partners.
We recommend you contact them directly and seek for assistance.
I am sorry that I could not be more helpful at this moment.
hello,
I had a lovely time here on the 11th of June. however, due to an error I booked the baths for the 10th. I then had to pay 120 euro all over again for the 11th. is there no possibility of a refund for this? I spoke to Headout, your partner and they said due to your policy it’s not possible, however in this case it was a genuine error. I will contact my bank and my solicitor about this too to ensure thoroughness and legality.
Dear Zaina,
Thank you for your message, and we’re really sorry to hear about the difficulty you encountered with your Headout Budapest bath booking. As discussed via email please find the following information:
Unfortunately, the ticket selected on Headout falls under the regular-priced category, which is more restrictive — it doesn’t allow for date changes or refunds. These terms are outlined on Headout’s platform along with the slightly cheaper prices, but we know it can still be disappointing when flexibility is needed and not available, and eventually the cheaper price becomes a more expensive choice due to change of date, flight cancellations of other hindrance upsetting the travel plans.
As a general note, tickets to Budapest thermal baths are sold and resold by several partners and platforms due to the high demand, often under different conditions. Not all tickets are uniform — some come with flexible options at a slightly higher price, while others (like the one you purchased) are more fixed in exchange for a lower rate. All partners try to ensure this is as clear as possible during the buying experience and the checkout process though the final presentation of these terms and the way they are communicated is handled by the reselling platform.
We’re genuinely sorry to hear that this situation has caused you distress.
We understand that you’ve chosen to pursue this matter through a chargeback related to your booking made via Headout, for a ticket type sold under fixed terms — including no refund and no modification — as outlined and accepted at the time of purchase.
As the matter is now being handled externally through legal avenues, we will cooperate as required and provide any relevant documentation to the appropriate channels, including this correspondence and all associated records.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and concerns.
Should you return to Budapest in the future, we’d be very happy to help you choose the most suitable flexible ticket type for your plans to keep them more customised to your needs.
