Thank you!
Natalie
Hello Natalie,
yes, Szechenyi Spa Baths will be open every day in December. You can use the indoor and the outdoor hot pools as well.
Have a lovely holiday in Budapest!
Hello,
Are the thermal baths open in the last week of May?
I was planning on visiting Budapest for 3 days and I would really like to visit the thermal bath, what do I need for that? Is it needed the Covid Passport? If yes, how do I get it?
Thank you
Hello Ines,
The baths have reopened (see this information on the page since May 1st 2021). Admission is with a valid Covid Passport issued by the HU government. If you have an international Covid passport it is not guaranteed that it will be automatically accepted upon crossing the border or a the baths (the validity of foreign Covid 19 vaccination cards should be checked on HU gov site which has a list of which countries are accepted at this moment ). Currently Hungary only accepts tourists without a need to self isolate for a 10-14 day period if they are from and come from a country with whom Hungary has made a mutual agreement to accept each other’s Covid passports. The English version of the Hungarian government portal normally refers to internationally accepted Covid passports as ‘mutual recognition of immunity certificates’. The list is growing and can be seen here:
https://konzuliszolgalat.kormany.hu/utazas-a-vedettsegi-igazolvannyal
or here
https://kormany.hu/kulgazdasagi-es-kulugyminiszterium/vedettsegi-igazolasok
If the country of your origin is not in the list it means that self isolation will be mandatory when entering Hungary.
If you can see your country in the list and you do own a valid Covid passport (and there are no Covid symptoms present), please bring your Covid passport along to the bath visit to hasten the check-in process at the thermal baths.
Tickets can be purchased on the spot.
Hope this helps and you will have a great time in Budapest.
Hi,
Are the baths open for supporters coming for EURO 2020? We’ve got tickets. I know some restrictions don’t apply to us but idk about this one.
Thanks!
Have a lovely day
Hello Anais,
Yes, the baths are open during the EURO 2021 football matches, but please kindly check the following information:

Thanks
Hello Mo Ben, Thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately the baths are closed in January.
Thank you for your understanding.
Wishing us all a safer and more relaxed thermal year in 2021!
Are the baths operating these days? Any special covid regulations regarding the use of thermal baths?
Hello Ali,
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, there are multiple major thermal baths / pools and lidos already open in Budapest, and each are operating with Covid restrictions, e.g. At body temperatures above 37 degrees we are unable to allow entrance.
Other relevant rules include:
entry in case of fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or respiratory disease is not allowed.
it is obligatory to wear slippers.
keep 2m distance everywhere in and outside the baths.
please wear mask in the enclosed areas (cashier’s, changing rooms etc.)
prior to and after using the pools and the toilets, it is compulsory to shower with hot water and soap.
frequently wash your hands.
kindly observe the maximum allowed number of guests in the pool.
the staff continuously monitor the observance of house rules.
Hi
Are the baths open on 14 February 2021?
Thnx a lot
Sorry, Stefan, currently we can only confirm that all thermal baths are closed to the public due to the Covid regulations.
Please make a phone call on the day of your planned visit to make sure if the baths have reopened. The regulations keep changing, so it is hard to predict the likelihood of re-opening before the summer months in 2021. To be on the safe side, all we can advise at this point is keep checking the status.
Thank you for your understanding.
Wishing us all a safer and more relaxed thermal year in 2021!
